Hyundai Department Store announced on the 23rd that it will launch a 20-member ‘climate change task force’ consisting of 15 major fashion partners, the Korea Fashion Industry Association and Hyundai Department Store fashion buyers and start operating next year. This is the first time that department stores, fashion brand operators, and associations have established a three-way cooperation structure to cope with climate change. The Climate Change TF will revise its sales strategy throughout the fashion sector, including preparing longer summer countermeasures, special discounts on products during the change of seasons, and changing the release date of new seasonal products. This means that it will change the timing of receiving new products by season, which has been solidified for decades, and change marketing on a large scale for efficient sales. Hyundai Department Store plans to emphasize products suitable for the weather by dividing the prolonged summer into early summer, mid-summer, and late summer.
