The Robinsons Jem store will close by the end of August, leaving the Al-Futtaim Group-owned retailer with just two remaining stores in the city state of Singapore: The Heeren on Orchard Road and Raffles City. The space at Jem will be taken over by Ikea, which is set to open Southeast Asia’s first ‘small-store’ concept. The new Ikea Singapore store will open next year, taking up about 6’500sqm across three floors of Jem, which is managed by Lendlease. It will be the Swedish furniture and home decor chain’s third shop in the city. Robinsons plans to revamp its online presence, adding additional solutions for buying products and services and last month it opened a store on LazMall.
